There is smooth and then there is smooth. Until you shoot a good static curve you haven't experienced smooth. The new bow Kirk built doesn't even pull the string off of the limb until it hits 25 inches. I would bet you could draw that bow out to 34 or 35 with no stack. The little bow on the end of the line was a present I gave to kirk several years ago. He has a pic of him drawing it 33 inches with no stack and its only a 56 in bow. Don't give me any orders on it though. I don't build it anymore. Everybody said they wanted one pieces. Then when I built the forms and made the bows no one bought them. I gave most of them away. But then the guys that got them got a real good deal.
Anyway , whoever you buy it from my reccomendation is a good static tip bow.
If Kirk posts a pic of a static at full draw you can check out the string angle and see why. a 58 in bow pulls like a 64, no pinch at all. The new designs with no tip wedges are just super fast too and much quieter than a working recurve.
Kirk makes a new one that is a barn burner, I won't post the tests but he might. I make them in several models, my new one is the black phenolic bow with the funny looking riser that is on his rack. Storm Eagle, RER makes them , Jack Kemph, Stalker I believe. Perhaps Bob Morrison.I'm sure there are a few more that are great bowyers and Trad Gang sponsers.
Godbless you all, Steve
