Hi Steve
I received a Bear Bruin longbow a while back on a trade.Looks like proceeded the Montana model.
Surprisingly it's a very nice shooting bow,not a whole lot of handshock.
I did a little research when I got it and this is what I found.
The Bear Bruin was made 1 year only in 1997. It was made with a black laminated maple riser, a few were made in Brown. The limbs were laminated maple core's with the face and back of the bow backed with black fiberglass. The bow came with wood laminated tips that only accommodate Dacron string materials, (do not use fast flight type of string materials). The Bruin came with a leather rest and grip for added comfort and feel. This bow was not a screamer but would shoot speeds in the low 170's. The brace height that I shot this bow at was about 7.5" but some liked it a little higher at 8".
Hope it helps.
Take care
Mo
