Looking off the porch of a buddy's cabin where I have based my elk hunts the last couple of years. No elk have been harmed, but the solitude is great. In spending about 20 days there, I haven't seen another human. Well off the beaten track.

Yeah, Fred's LA camp "Too blessed to be stressed" is living large in the lap of luxury for sure!

Here is a picture of my more humble abode in west-central Wisconsin.

Centaur, mate that looks a treat right there! Reminds me of my time in the Rockies in CO.

I took advantage of the warm weather 40* today, and built this Pergola (12'x15') to give me a place to go relax outside and enjoy the abundant wildlife in the area.  We often use the elevated floor (7 feet to the ground) to shoot at various targets in the back yard.

It was nice to have all the ducks flying overhead, and watching all the deer going across the pond in the middle of the swamp to get to the island while building this.  It's just relaxing to be out here.

I call the place "The Outback Bar & Grill".  Next on the "To Do" list is the standing seam metal roof that is going to finish it off and offer us a little more shade.
