300 grain stumping points
« on: March 15, 2013, 05:36:00 PM »
What do you fellow TG members use to get a screw-in 300 grain stumping point.  I can't find any pre-made options, so screw in adaptor with a glue on is probably the way to go.

Any advice or experience?

If they make 325 gr tips could you grind the point off to make a 300gr point? I don't know if that would even work.

Empty 357mag/38spl. cases has worked for me on woodies. Maybe glue them over 300gr screw-in point? Might have to grind down the tip?

Tater,

So that combo of the Ace Hex works well with the steel adapters?

I have not used the 200gr hex, but I have used the 125gr and 160gr with the 100gr steel adapters and they work great.

300 grs screw on VPAs small game.
They "stamp" the stump with a distinctive mark  :)

I also use hex heads. 200 grainers with the 100gr steel adapters.Very durable. More so than the glue on judo's I used to use. Still use the judo's if tall grass is present but the Hexes are my #1 choice on stumps and small game.

How about just using a grasshopper. They only add 25 gr. and you can just use a field point.
They work great for stumping.
