My wife has been watching with interest my wood arrow making. First it was some Ash, then Douglas Fir, and then Sitka Spruce.

Then I bought a dozen POC shafts. I just had to try some, if for no other reason than to refresh my childhood memories of the smell of POC when my father was making (and breaking) arrows.

When my wife got a whiff of those shafts, she hinted that maybe I should make her some arrows. She has been shooting aluminum, but why not share the fun?

My wife and daughter have been in Japan this week, so I made up six arrows for her. I already had the orange feathers, and a mess of 5/16" nocks, so I put a 9-inch taper on them and did them up. The cresting was done using Sharpies, but they came out pretty good, don't you think? The points are Eclipse Chubbie Bunnies....I'm really liking those points.

I should have taken some outside photos, but it is a bit cool and breezy today.

They are due back tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon. Even though I'm sure she will be tired, she'll most likely want to shoot a few if the wind isn't blowing.

Next project: a half dozen more POCs with purple cap and feathers for my daughter. I'll let her do the cresting.

Here she is:

I was a bit worried about how these arrows would shoot out of here bow, but my worries were unfounded! They shoot great! Nancy has much nicer form than I do, and she was really laying them in there. She stopped after 18 shots 'cause she didn't want to mess up here new arrows!

Thanks guys! I'm going to try and be a bit more creative. I've seen some nice arrow on other threads that will be my inspiration.

Very nice! I like the natural and stained combo with the more simple crest. They look classy.
