Some interesting history!  I had the priviledge of meeting Fred Bear in 1984.  Something I saw in the video was new to me.  If you look closely at Fred's right hand, the tip of his ring finger is missing.

I woke up last night and couldn't sleep. I watched all three parts. It would be nice to those vids to be added to Fred Bear's Legends and Pioneers thread along with the lost interview video.

I particularly took interest in his explanation of how he snap shoots. I liken that explanation to my own style.

Thanks for posting.

I found some footage of Art Young hunting in Alaska on youtube yesterday, pretty cool stuff on there if you can get past all the kids trying to emasculate themselves performing skateboard tricks and find it.

Some very interesting stuff in there.  My favourite quote was "I am not concerned about distance of yardage, but distance of feel"

I'm terrrible at estimating range, but I know when a shot feels right.
But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourself - James 1:22

Thanks for posting. It made me think I lost a great opportunity. I moved to Jacksonville in 1973 when I was 13 and started bow hunting about that time. Just 1.5 hours away from Gainsville. Joined the Army in 1977 and moved away until 2000. Sure wish I had made a trip back then.
