St. Jude's Angels
« on: March 24, 2013, 08:14:00 PM »
This little package was on my porch coming all the way from Charleston, South Carolina earlier in the week. Pound Cake! I would just like to take a moment to thank Delaney and Julian Tisdale "Duckbutt" for doing what they do for the kids. I recently read it takes $1,800,000 to keep St. Jude's Hospital operating for ONE day. It's people like you and all the other Trad Gang member that make us proud! The Pound Cake wars are fun, and the proceeds go to a great cause. Hats off to a very special Father and Daughter for doing what you do. The personal expense and work is truely appreciated by all. My package is safely stored in the freezer and will be a special treat for the Trad Gangers in camp at Bear Quest 7 in June.

To all the fine folks that support the auction as well as all the work from the moderators and other groups who do the bunny hunts throughout the year

God Bless the kids who need help

Nothing better than that pound cake!  Delaney and Julian go above and beyond for St. Jude, and have raised thousands of dollars for their efforts.  Well done!!  :clapper:    :clapper:

Come on though Yellow Dog, fess up.  You did cut off just a tiny slice before putting the rest of it in the freezer, didn't you?    :goldtooth:

"Hey!" .... my best Uncle Si impersonation here.

We don't deserve this attention.  We are just gypsies in the palace when it comes to all of this.  None of this would be what it is without the Langehans clan and that is a FACT.  None of this would be what it is without Doug, Terry et al that spend MANY more hours on all of this than I ever could.  None of this would be possible without the time, money and ENTHUSIASM that Whip gins up every year to actually make it a contest for the Sunny Hill Gang.  None of this would be possible without the folks that have individually spent thousands on the wars....if I had to count'em up it would take more fingers than I have.  None of this would be possible without the scores of fellars like you that throw down a "benny" just to wait 8,9,10 months or so to get some cake in the mail.
So, thanks for the thanks, but we don't do much and we get to lick the spoon!
Hope we get some good mo again this year.

Bisch, sorry week one    :)

Joe, it was wrapped so carefully I didn't want to disturb it so in the freezer it went untouched to be opened and enjoyed in La Tuque    :archer2:

Guys, once you have tasted Delany's cake YOU ARE HOOKED!!!  It is simply to good for words.  I mostly just smile when I think of it, waiting for the next St. Jude's auction.

And Whip is right, this young lady goes so far beyond the call for St. Jude's.  I'm saving my bennies Joe, we will make that dang tooth fairy pay dearly this year!!!!

OMGosh.  Delany's cake is the devil!

I just went to the freezer for a slice and what do I find????

My kids have EATEN Delany's cake AND wrapped some chocolate cake up to hide their evil deed.  The cake has turned my kids into conniving thieves!
