bare shaft flying ok? not ok?
« on: August 25, 2007, 07:38:00 PM »
i have a bare shaft finally flying stright out to 20 yards which is the longest i have shot it. it is flying wear i aim (out to 20 yards) and no longer taking off on a path of its own, BUT the tail is still off center about 2 inxhes on the stiff side.  a fletched arrow is hitting the bag perfectly center and no longer flys with a porpoise or fish tailing motion.  is this close enough for good broadhead flight and pentatration? i dont have any heads yet but want like to know if its close enough...? thanks for any help!

In my opinion, yes, you are ready to mount some BH's and start practicing with them.  Good luck!

what point weight on there now? You should be little weak, so when the feathers go on they stiff'e it up some. Try  O.L ADOCK\\'S  Tuning web page

The idea with bare shafting is to get fletched arrows and bare shafts to group the same. The nock end of your arrow can be off to the side and in a bag target often will be.I'd say it's close enuff to try BH,s they are basically gonna act the same as the BS giving you the same stiff/weak sign,s

Shoot both at the same time(not literally LOL)so that ya don't start adjusting and take your time beside's shootin arrows is kinda fun

Good luck!!
Shoot straight and have FUN!!
