2013 Ky trad fest
« on: April 13, 2013, 04:53:00 PM »
I recently went to the Ky trad fest, and had no thoughts of buying a new longbow, until i walked into the booth of,Treadway bows.Something just came over me while looking at these simple bows.In a time of,carbon and foam and static limbs, these bows just called out to me.The bow i bought is a 66 inch 47@28 D style American walnut American maple masterpiece of simplicity.I just got my arrows set up,and have been shooting this bow,for a few days.Just let me say that,i love this longbow. It takes me back to simple basics.Something i needed within myself. It was the first time i had ever talked to Michael Treadway,he was very nice, friendly, helpful person. He told me he has a 2 week buy back on his bows.He can have this bow back,if he can pry it from my cold dead hands. If you can make it to some of the bigger trad events, and you see a sign that says Treadway bows.Stop and give a look. You wont be sorry.

You sure won't be sorry. Mike is a terrific guy and makes excellent quality bows.  I own two of his Black Swamp bows and in my experience, pound for pound of draw weight, nothing has ever shot any better. Thing is, Mike is not taking orders from new customers--just repeat orders.  He's trying to slow down some.  If you haven't bought one from him before, about the only way you'll get one is to buy off the table at a shoot.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

I shot a round with Mike on Sunday.  Struck me as a real nice guy and the others in the group raved about his bows.
