Grab a Forest Service map and a turkey hunting guide and maybe stop at RMSGear and ask those guys where to try. Good luck! If you were in Colorado Springs I could tell you a place to try or two...

Don't know turkeys on the front range but you definitely need to check out Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear.  Great trad shop and sponsor here.

Probably the closest you will find them is in rampart range area. Not close to Denver. But not terribly far. We're getting covered in snow right now tho

Look on the DOW's website for the State Wildlife Areas along the South Platte in NE Colorado.  There are lots of SWA's along the Platte from Greeley all the way to the Nebraska line.  Access is very easy since I-76 follows the river to the border.  I've not personally hunted turkeys but I've seen lots while hunting pheasants and quail in the SWAs.  I also saw a whole bunch along the river two weekends ago when I drove to/from Iowa.

You can start as close as Ft. Morgan or go all the way to Julesburg.  Ft. Morgan is a bit over an hour and Julesburg is nearly 2.5 hours from Denver.  Lots of SWAs to choose from.

Its snowing like crazy now, so thats gonna put a kink in your plans, but.... I secong the motion to visit RMSG. I just gave advice on colorado turkeys in another thread if you search it. For best chances, stick to rivers or creek areas with alot of trees. Eastern colorado is loaded with turkeys, as is the foothills if you find the right spot.
What area is your tag for? and how far are you willing to travel?

With the weather we have, you might want to try Safeway, other wise,  best bet is rampart range and by all means check out RMSG

Dont let the weather scare you too much. As soon as it lets up they'll be moving good. Where I hunt, they have been gobblin alot and moving alot. They still have to eat; wind, rain, or shine. Once the snow stops, if you find a good protected area or even a field that is somewhat open and not covered in snow, that could be a potential jackpot for hungry turkeys looking for an easy meal.

Thanks for all the advice! I have an unlimited tag, and spent the weekend in Eastern Colorado (limon/Flagler area) where three of my friends harvested their birds, it just did not work out for me.

Heading over to RMSG tomorrow and going to try the Rampart Range area and also the Platte River areas. Thanks a million.

FYI all those SWA's along the Platte River from Fort Morgan to the Neb. line are draw only and take about 5 points to draw.

Be sure you check the regs for areas that are limited. An unlimited tag means you may not hunt any of the limited draw areas, not that you are unlimited to where you may hunt.

Been looking a bit and have only found some on private property at the base of the foothills.  Small private property, not acreage.

I did find 4 in a coop as I drove up Jackson Creek Road but I don't think anyone would take kindly to me poking one with a stick through the fence.
