Your wife has nice form ripforce!

I forgot to mention I am about 5'1". She will have a better learning curve than I, having someone like you to help her. Even a 30# bow will seem heavy to her at first but I think she will get used to it quickly.

Makua Girl

I really love my Stalker Bobcat. The riser is designed to be slimmer than the other Stalker bows to accommodate the smaller hands of women and children. In addition to the "grow with your bow" program, South also offers "test drives". Your wife can try out a bow (based on what South has in his shop) to see if she likes how it feels and shoots.

Have fun!!

Stone Sheep

My wife shoots a late 1960s bear polar for 3D 25# at her draw length and shoots a 45# @ 23 1/2" custom made Bighorn recurve for hunting.

I can get my sweety to shoot no problem, I just can't get her on the forum! For counterpoint, she is 5' 10" same as me, and has hands that are as large as mine but slimmer. She draws a full 28".  I started her on an old Shakespeare Custer 40# @ 28". Her grandfather was thrilled that she was shooting and bought her a OMP Explorer (?) 28#@24" takedown recurve which she is pulling about 36#~.  Now she shoots both.

She is very excited about her new bow though. After shooting my12 yr old sons 46# Chise Bows A Stalker longbow (I didn't tell her it was 46#) we decided to order her one.  They are smooth drawing and have a slim comfortable grip.  He told me about a new design he had just completed. Somehow we now have two bows on order.  Hers will be 40#@28 and 60".

If she is looking for a longbow my wife really likes her black rhino.

My wife just started shooting with me and the kids a couple weeks ago. She's 5' 7" 117 lbs but was born with the bones in her arms twisted and fused (same with my daughter) they have zero rotation at the wrist so my wife has to use a release. I started her out with a PSE Snake recurve 22 lbs. Shes getting the hang of it. Shouldn't be long before i need to get her a new bow. she only has about a 24" draw. Open to suggestions on a bow for her.

Might want to take a look at Mike's maddogs, while you are at it. One of then mid-sized bows just might be the ticket.
