Best broadhead for my new Douglas Fir arrows

Hey guys I just wanted to give you guys a run down on some choice broadhead I've been looking at and want your humble opinion on selections.

First off, I am shooting a 57# at 28" Center Cut Longbow Red Stag. I wanted to switch to wooden shafts so I ordered some Douglas Fir shafts, stained, crowned and crested them. Spined them and I am now putting on fletchings.

I have grouped the shafts according to their spine within 1-2#.

So far I have about 3 47-49# shafts, 4 50# shafts (exactly) and 3 52-54# shafts with 2 shafts drying from having to be re-stained and so far is not finished.

I am thinking about using the 3 shafts in the 52 - 54# spine range for hunting (thus need a heavier broadhead and therefore adding more weight up front and better KE). And I was thinking about using a 160 grain broadhead. What I want is a glue on 2 blade, I am also in the process of buying field points through 3rivers so I want to include the broadheads in with my purchase to get them all at once in one shipment.

Here are some broadhead choices with those specs on 3 rivers. What do you guys like? and please give a brief explaination to which one you chose(if it has multiple choices: such as Zwickey ____) and why.

I would go with the Magnus MaI or MaII. I've used the MaII with great success. They are very easy to sharpen, durable, and fly great. I am going to try the MaI this year because of the wide diameter which will aid in making a good blood trail. I think with your set up penetration will not be an issue.

Thanks for the input, before I posted this I was torn about either going with the MA I or the Grizzly. I'll see what others think and go with the most popular

Is your draw less than 28"? I'm asking cause you are listing arrows that all spine under your bow weight. With a broadhead this could be a problem.
I voted for the Zwickey. I like the Deltas cause of the width and my second choice would be the Magnus I as you can get that in 160's

135 gr 2 blade Zwickey Delta or 125 gr Eskimo. Been working for me since '78. Another good choice is the 160 gr Snuffer.

You really can't make a bad choice with any of the ones listed!  I picked Ace because:

1-Large choice of broadheads in different weights.  The Ace Standards come in 125,135,145 and 160 grains. The Super Express comes in 175 and 200 gains.  The Express weighs 165 grains.  They even have a 100 grain broadhead.

2-Time proven performance-  Ace has been around even longer than Zwickey.  I've never heard of any complaints about their durability or tuffness.

3-One of the easiest 2 blade broadhead to sharpen.
 (for me anyway.  Only Magnus is easier)

4-Some of the best bloodtrails I have ever experienced were left by Ace Standard broadheads.

5-Cost- normally less for them than for the other broadheads you have listed.

6-Outstanding customer service- I have even heard of them even selling you their broadheads unground so you can bevel them to your liking.

My results with Ace Standard broadheads have been nothing but positive.

If you draw 28" I'm thinkin you need about 70# spine for that bow. But if they'll fly I'd shoot a 160 snuffer. I do.

Hey all, sorry about not putting this in but yeah my draw length is 26.5" so I am pulling somewhere around 50# or so, that's why the spine values for my arrows are so weak.

Personally, I think even at 26.5Æ and 50#, you are still under spined and with broadheads even more so.

Maybe the bow is not cut to center?  That would explain the spine. If the arrows fly well with the 160 gn that's my pick. Also those arrows are close enough they should all fly equally well if any of them do. Good luck!!
