Morrison ILF
« on: April 30, 2013, 11:46:00 AM »
Hey guys,

I'm getting interested in ILF lately, and I've been eyeing some Morrison goodies for a week or two.
How about we take a look at YOUR own Morrison ILF rigs?

I'm currently dreaming about a 15", mid grip, phenolic riser with Cocobolo flare/accent. Matching with a set of TT Blackmax carbons. Any thoughts about this?
Aaron

I cant say enough about BOBs bows the best of the best!!

I shoot a Shawnee and a Cheyenne and love them. Had two ILFs had to sell for other projects and will have another on order soon!

Cocobolo is sooooo nice and he makes any wood look good. But I will say this his same wood flares are the best looking for me and my taste!

I post a pic tonight

Hey Aaron,
I have Bob's 15" metal riser and I really like it.
Also have a Titan 17" I really like but prefer the grip on the Morrison.
Those TT Carbon's are great limbs, really can't beat them for the price.
I currently have a set of Samik extremes and ACS RC's which are both smooth and fast but not sure they are that much better than the TT Carbons for the additional cost.
I think you are making a good choice.

I have a Morrison 17 inch Phoenix riser with Max1 limbs. I don't think you can beat this rig in an ILF.

I've been messing around with the ILF this year, I bought a couple of sets of the TT Carbon Wood limbs and have to say I was less than impressed with their performance, they are smooth though, but not very fast. Watch the classifieds and you can find some that are just as smooth or smoother and faster for not much more if you buy them used. I got a set of Dryad ACS RC and man they are super sweet, dropped a few pounds and gained a few fps in the swap.

I just shot the 15 inch metal riser Morrison ILF this weekend and have to have one.  That grip is the best thing I've ever put my hands on.  Going to the classifieds and putting a WTB out right now.

Duckbutt, saw the classified! That's pretty quick of you! I'm hoping to get a Morrison ILF phenolic with Cocobolo flare by next year. And get some awesome limbs to fit too.

Yep Duckbutt, that is the BEST (Jager) grip out there in my opinion.  It has a softer material where it contacts the palm of your hand, but is rigid where it contacts the bow to ensure stability.  I wish I could have this grip on all of my bows.

Here is my Morrison 15" ILF phenolic with cocobolo flare.  I had Bob duplicate the medium Hoyt Ergo grip on this bow and it came out awesome!

Hey meleagris1. wow man, just wow. that thing is beautiful! A pity I don't have enough cash with me now. Just made payment for a bow from a fellow member on TG. It's a blackswan riser with his self made Tonkin boo longbow limbs.
He managed to shave off 10# at my draw length so it was a deal I can't refuse. Looks darn pretty too I'd say!

He had a 17" left hand cocobolo/phenolic, medium grip riser on his site that I don't see anymore. I hummed and hawwed too long on that one. Whoever bought it, let me know when your tired of it,...LOL

Hey hockey7. I think we had our eyes on the same thing! I'm not sure if you noticed, morrison has 2 similar weblinks, one of which might be outdated.

I know Bob has gotten several requests recently for the phenolic/cocobolo riser, because I've had a number of people PM me who were in the process of ordering one and wanted to ask questions about it.  Here is another pic of my riser, really is a beautiful bow.  One of these days I want to try his snake skins too . . .
