Does Anyone Make a Fred Bear Glove Replica??
« on: May 12, 2013, 01:09:00 AM »
Hey all,

I have tried many gloves and haven't been able to find "THE" one yet.  I saw some videos of Fred shooting and his glove and later saw a thread or 2 about some of you actually owning a replica Bear glove.  It looked beautiful.  It also looked like it would stay in place and never move or slide.  I have a great glove now, it's an old Hill Style glove made by the guy that used to own American Leathers.  The only problem with it now is that it has the elastic material on the back of the hand and when I release the finger stalls slip and I have to pull them back up before shooting.  I hate that.  I am thinking of taking it to a boot maker and seeing if they can repair it.

In the meantime, I'd like to find someone that can make those Bear Gloves.  Anyone have any info on them or who makes them?

Thanks

Nalajr

I think that is a different one than what I am talking about.  This one has real nice chocolate colored leather with an inlaid compass and it fits around the thumb, if I remember right.  It's a beautiful glove for sure, prettier than any glove I have seen in a while.  I believe they would have to be a custom piece as it looks to have a lot of work and care put into them.

I can post a pic for you all to see what I am talking about if you want.  I'll find it and put it up tomorrow morning sometime.

Thanks

I would contact bowdoc. He had one made for him like you describe. I believe Grant Young was involved somehow but he is gone now.
