Can you recognize the bow?
« on: May 14, 2013, 04:46:00 PM »
I recently saw an old movie called "Hard Target" where Uncle Douvee shoots a traditional recurve. Does anybody happen to recognize the brand/ manufacturer of this one?

Looks like a Damon Howatt or a Martin. Magnus broad head on the film cover, cool stuff.

Nice shot by Uncle Douvee. I'm no expert but it does look like a DH or Martin. I saw where the bow was strung, then unstrung then strung up again all in about 15 seconds...starting at 2:05.

Bow is a Howatt/Martin.

Isn't that a scene from a Quaker Oats TV commercial starring Wilford Brimley?

All while riding a horse, he is pretty amazing. I am not sure how he was able to use a stringer from there.
Ask me about CTO.

I too noticed that it was unstrung while he was riding on the horse.

"Now take thy weapons, thy quiver of arrows & thy bow & go out to the field, & hunt some venison."

"I caught the caimans on a cane pole baited with hotdogs. I beat them to death with a stick and skinned them with my bare teeth." -dhaverstick

It looks to me to be a Super Diablo by Martin/Howatt in the hands of a over-bowed shooter?? LOL
