CX 150's or CX 250's

I'm shooting a 62" Silvertip non FF string 56# @28" draw. My draw length is 28", and I like to shot 29" arrows. I use Magnus 1 160 gr. broadheads with broadhead adapters @ 34 gr., and a reg. shart insert @11 gr. I also shoot 200 gr. field tips. I know I can buy a sample pact of 150- 250- 350 CX, but wanted some insight of any one useing close to my bow- 56# @28 useing a 29" arrow with the grains upfront I am useing. Any response is welcomed. What would be a better fit 150's or 250's?  Thanks.

Since it is non FF, you want 29" arrows, and 200 grains up front, the 150's would be the best match for your setup, IMHO.  The 250's are going to be to stiff unless you changed something, i.e. longer arrow, more weight up front, etc.

I'm shooting 250's at 54# with a 28.5" arrow and 150 grain tips with regular inserts.  I shoot a fast flight string though, not sure how much diffeence that makes.  The 250's shoot through paper fine and bareshafts group very well left to right which indicates spine I'm still trying to work on my vertical though knocking point movements.  Don't know if that helps.   Joe

I'm very close to your set-up and use 30" 250's and they fly great!

I also shoot 30" 250 I draw 54lbs and shoot a Stelth recurve with bcy 97 string and it has excellent flight with any point weight from 125gr and up go with the 250s if you are shooting a modern recurve do not be afraid to leave your arrows 30 to 32" long you will ge glad for the extra weight you get

I struggled with this too. There is a big difference in spine between the two, bigger than usual for CX shafts. I went with the 250s and they are a bit too stiff for me at 57@28 in a recurve without leaving them full length or going way heavy (275+) on the front.

had a friend over yesterday evening that was bareshafting the CX 250's out of his 54# BW recurve with a FF string and we never could get them to fly right. we tried everything from different length shafts, different weight inserts, different weight points and even different weight nocks. the result of everything we tried was "TOO STIFF". he now shoots Gold Tip 55/75's and not because they're any better than the CX's but because they seemed to shoot great with about any combination of weights we tried.

The 250s are what ya want, I promise you that a 250 cut to 29"s with 225 grains up front would be dead on the money. The 150s with that much up front would be weak. I shoot the 150s out of my 54# (at my 28.5" draw) RER arroyo at 29.5"s and 175 up front and they bareshaft perfect. Shawn

I cannot imagine a 54# bow shooting the 250s well with only 125 up front. i have shot some very high performance bows and have tested carbons extensively the last 7 years and have yet to find a 54-60# bow that would shoot the 250s with 125 up front unless left full length and than ya still would be on the upper range of that(60#s or so).

The 250's. I'm shooting 250's with my 52# recurve 30" with 100 grain brass inserts and 125 points and they fly great. I hunted in Africa with them this year and had no problems at all. Hope this helps.
