Lighted target range?
« on: May 20, 2013, 05:20:00 PM »
First hot day at work this year.I had a breakdown and was repairing the machine under the noon sun.Well over a 100 degrees in the cab when I finished and went back to work.Welding, hammering and swearing,LOL! I don't know how you boys in the deep south can take the heat.
I was going to shoot a little after dinner, but I'm beat and it's still pretty hot out. I'm going to put a spot light on my deck aiming at my target butt. The street light is right over my sidewalk at 24 yards. I'm going to have my own midnight shooting range.Just wondering if anybody else shoots at night to beat the heat?

bout the only way to shoot here in Louisiana in the summer. Temps are only in the low 90's after dark. LOL

I shoot in my lighted hay loft of the horse barn. Can shoot after dark, in winter, when raining, or any ol' time.
Take care,
Jeff

Kook68,God bless you my friend,I'd die down there!

Damselflyfarm,I shoot in a barn up the road in the winter. We'll be starting to fill it with hay in the next couple weeks,so no room by mid summer to shoot.

dhermon85,I think I'll be mounting a spotlight this long weekend forv sure!

Isn't that why they invented those little compact headlamps?  :)

When it gets that hot I can shoot out of my 2nd story bedroom window. Just like out of a tree stand. Targets are outside. When I go out back I then pull them. 70 degrees in the house all year long.

pretty cool out here right now, we had to wear long sleeves this evening when we went to shoot:) not always like this, had showers around and what not, but man was it nice out!

High temp today was 47 degrees.  Cool enough to shoot, but the 2+ inches of rain kind of put a damper on it.

I forgot to answer the question about after dark shooting.

I have done quite a bit, just take the shop light out to illuminate the target butt.  We have also done some night 3D shoots.  Take a good mag lite and have at it.
