I just want too give a heart felt thank you to all the Bowyers who make it possible to have a custom made bow at a price that an average working man or retired person can afford.

Yep, I actually told a favorite bowyer of mine that he wasn't charging enough for his bows.

Anyone looking for a great kids bow check out St Joe River Bows, I ordered one for my 4yr. old granddaughter and it is a beautiful bow.

Saw David and Tracey at Baltimore this past weekend and they had a lot of great looking kids bows on display. Anyone looking for a kids bow, or adult longbow or recurve for that matter, should check out St. Joe River.

They had a one piece recurve there that was all bacote with a black phenolic I-beam that outstanding. Great people to talk to as well.

I got to be there for those like myself.  I've never been wealthy, will never be wealthy, and being weathly isn't on my prioroity list, being part of the backbone of America is.

My boy has had a Maddog and a St. Joe River.  Both make it affordable to pass the torch to the younger generations.

I've done the math and cannot imagine how most bowyers make a living on what they charge.  I suspect there are a lot of spouses out there with insurance or some great job that helps the bowyer keep doing his "artwork" for us.

To me the biggest part of making a living at what I do (Or anything I've done) is a combination of, maximizing resources, finding the best deals on materials,  being content, and living within my means.  I've found that "stuff" doesn't make me happy.  Being busy and staying on my feet makes me happy.  Plus before I took to professionally building bows I completed a carreer in the Air Force.  The pension and benefits I'm getting makes it a bit more managable.
