More Whips
« on: May 28, 2013, 11:36:00 PM »
Its seems like everyone likes showing off their bows and since I just got another whip I figured I would share.  I had been thinking of a two piece for quite some time.  Fantasies of moose, goat, sheep tags and a trip to Alaska had me convinced I needed one.  I went to Dan's place to see what he thought and after he twisted my arm I had a bow in the making.  I didn't know what I wanted for wood until I was walking around his shop.  Apparently one of you guys on here didn't quite like the looks of some Bocote he had laying around.  I asked him what the deal was and he said "it's yours".  Needles to say it turned out great. If anything, as I'm sure most of you know, Dan's a great guy who makes magnificent bows.  Thanks for looking.

I don't like a 2 piece, but I like the look of that Whip. The Bocote and Micarta do look very nice together.

Both are 62"  52@28.  The other bow there is a whip with juniper veneers and a nice redish cocobolo riser.  I wanted the two piece for travel of course and hopefully I don't get another bug for a bow to soon.  The Kestrel is appealing though.
