Early season deer hunting tick repelant that won't get you busted?

Ya but I get a horribley itchy bump within minutes of getting bit so I'd to keep them off me entirely. I'll have to get some permethrin.

I've used sulfur in a sock to bang againt my ankles, crotch and waist areas. Works well against chiggars, not sure about ticks. I'm also a big fan of the Sawyer "Permatrin" tick spray. A recent Pow Wow post talked about buying 10% Permitrin at your local feed store and mixing your own spray and wash to save money. Will be looking into that this year.Good luck.

Permethrin all the way! Spray your clothes generously a few days ahead of your hunt, and odor will not be a problem. Neither will ticks. I think it is the best stuff available. DEET may repel mosquitoes, but ticks simply regard it as dipping sauce. I have have bad luck when only using DEET.

Use caution about buying bottles of Permethrin and mixing your own solution, though. If overly concentrated, it can be harmful. Just be sensible
