Still waiting
« on: June 03, 2013, 02:08:00 AM »
After many months of searching I finlly found a used Fedora 560 in my desired poundage.  It currently sits at the post office waiting to be picked up following failed delivery attempt while I was in hospital.  I still need  limbsaver bow stringer and new arrows as well.  I was in the hospital all last week and have a long list of things to do today but picking up the bow has to be included, even if I don't get to shoot it today.
I know it was not that long, but it sure seems like it took  long time to get here.
Funny how a new bow and patience seem to be at odds.

I hear ya and so do a lot of us.  I just ordered some new limbs for my Stewart and Leon said "3-4 months"!!  Gah, I can't handle it! Haha, and that's a relatively short time for a custom bowyer, I mean some like Toelke will have artwork for you in 6 weeks but some bowyers can take a year!  It's painful and not good for the wallet.  I just want my limbs but I already got caught buying another used bow just to have something new to try while I wait, heehee.

Same boat here.
Waiting for a new Dwyer Dauntless.  My name was supposed to come up "about May" and still waiting... patiently... waiting.

Hope you enjoy your bow. I have wanted a Schafer for about 24 yes. I finally bought one from the classifieds Saturday & should have it Wednesday . It sure beats the wait time for a new one. I can't wait to get it ! Only two more days.  :)

I picked it up and went to Bowhunters SuperStore and picked up a bow stringer but they were out of XX75 1916 shafts.  Looks like I will have to expand my search for arrows.

Bad news.... the bow had a flemish twist string on it and the brace was pretty low.  Being close, I took it to Mike Fedora for a new string.  In doing so we discovered that the top limb was twisted slightly.  Fortunately he can correct that but I really didn't count on spending an extra $50 on  bow that I have yet to even shoot. And I still have to get the $20 new string.
That stinks!  I am sure that the seller did not know this but still frustrating for me.  My own fault for not checking the bow as soon as I got it.
Maybe I should pass round the coffee can for donation to "Fix my twisted limb" fund.....  :dunno:

Mike wants to charge you $50 dollars to fix a twisted limb?

You would hope that would be under warranty.
