I've been using GT Trad 3555's with great success out of various bows from 49-54# for some time. Just play with point weight a bit and I'm good to go.
Well, all my 3555's are cut to 29.25" (I draw 28") and for my new-to-me 47# GN Lil Creep I was ending up with finished arrow weight over 520 grains...not a bad arrow setup at all, but I wanted to get down to 9.5-10gpp for a little more speed and a flatter trajectory.
I remembered I had bought some GT Trad 1535 Blem shafts some time ago, but had never tried them out. Well, I fletched up a 29" shaft with a Onestringer wrap, 3-5" shields, and 175 up front and gave her a go. Finished arrow weight was roughly 450.
Absolute Flippin Perfect Flight! And Fast! I'm one happy camper.
Who else has experienced success with 1535's or other 600 carbons out of bows over 45#? What setup worked for you?
