Twang in the strang

Im shooting a hawk recurve that I just bought and its 60" 49# shoots great but I have a slight twang in the string im shooting d97 with fur silencers its a vibration twang.. any suggestions?

How heavy of an arrow? What's your brace height? What's your draw length? Arrow length? What spine arrow?

Do you have felt strips at the string grooves along the bellies of the tips?

make sure limbs are tight if takedown...  how heavy of an arrow are you shooting.  is brace height at or slightly above recommended height.

I have had better quieting results with the rubber catwhisker silencers over fur.

X2 on this note....

But... if the tone of the string bothers you on D97  try getting a 450+ string in about 12 strands.... unbelievable difference in tone.

Make sure that there isn't too much of the "skin" of the fur hanging out from the bundle.  Had a similar situation where the skin had dried and hardened some and about 1/4 inch was sticking out and it had a real twang to it.
