Bowdoc,4nolz, HELP (or anyone else)
I am waiting for my Tru oil kit in the mail, I've stripped the finish off. I am wondering what color/make stain Bear used or are they natural,if stained, I have used watco and deft with great results but I'm not sure on this application. is there a pro or con to stains under tru oil.If stain is used will the fiberglass p/u the color of the stain?now that the finish is off.
Man law has to wait
Thank you Kurt

Well, I believe Bear used stain on their bows with green or blue risers!
I read that Bear used Fullerplast for finish.

Your probably right Dan, I even have one of those green bows with the blue stripe. For some reason I thought the wood was a type of dymond or action wood or something and the stain was added in the early stages of making it. Why'd they call it "future wood" anyhow?

I am guessing at the time, the '70's, everybody had a natural colored wooden bow. But to make blue or green risers, that looked like the "future bow".
I have a green handled Kodiak Hunter, it is green stained (dyed) maple.
And a good shooter.
