Black Widow MAIII TD in Autumn Oak **Pics Added**
« on: June 10, 2013, 01:20:00 PM »
Gentlemen,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I have the opportunity to acquire the above recurve and through negotiations and a common bond established with the seller, I believe I was able to negotiate a fair price; however I would like to confirm through the knowledgeable individuals here. I understand this process is very subjective. I have not had the opportunity to shoot it but the specs suggest it will “fit” me well. Here is the information provided by the seller:

"I have a beautiful Black Widow MAIII Recurve in autumn oak. It has a fantastic handmade wooden quiver that matches the bow. It is 64" long, 53lbs @ 30" draw. It has a new black widow string w/silencers, 10 Beman matching woodgrain carbon arrows. I will throw in a leather armguard and finger glove and tab. Bow is mint. No scratches, beautiful and ready to hunt. text for pics, **********"

The bow is gorgeous and the seller was not lying when he stated it was “mint”. The handmade quiver is a piece of art and gorgeous as well. I am trying not to make an emotional decision however this is proving difficult. I was able to negotiate the price to $600 for everything listed above. Insightful opinions appreciated. Thank you.

There are lots of members here who are much more knowledgable than me, but $600 sounds like a darn good deal for what you have listed. It sounds like a really good deal for just the bow itself!

An MA suggests an older bow than a PMA, and in today's market I would guess the going price to be about $500. When you throw in the rest, I would say it sound like a very good deal to me also.

Yup.  And 64" MA 53# @ 30" may just be one of the smoothest bows you ever shoot at that draw.  I will venture to guess that it will become THE reference point for the rest of your life.

I went ahead and purchased the BW and thought I would share a few photos.  This is my first BW and the craftmanship is amazing.

Nice bow, I regret selling my black widow.  That is a very cool quiver.

The MA II and III models were my favorite..especially in Autumn Oak.  I was looking for one for my brother last month and he found a SA-III instead....but great bows.
