Gentlemen,
I have a Pearson Signature takedown and I need some advise and opinions in order to effect a repair on the bow.
What I have is as follows;
The riser wood is not completely bonded to one side of the thin aluminum tenon on the upper limb / top half of the bow riser. There is a visible gap, of approximately 1/64", between the wood of the riser and the thin aluminum tenon that runs vertically up into the upper limb riser. This gapping is only on one side of the tenon but it runs the length of that tenon.
I am thinking about placing Locktite 420 in the gap and then clamping the riser with a C-clamp in order to close the gap and re-bond the riser wood to the aluminum. Is this a viable and good choice on my part???
I welcome your thoughts and ideas.
Thanks,
Andrew
