Silent Pond made the best but he's out of business. I know Bill Carlsen here has some ash from SP laying around. He may help. I used them for years with good success. Tough and hit hard but ash does require some "tweaking" here and there to keep them straight.

I have gotten some very good ash from Ted at Raptor Archery and I think he will taper them any way you want.

Hildebrand does sitka spruce and now carries douglas fir as well.Bet they'd do some of the df if you called and talked to them. Real nice folks and quality shafts in my brief dealings with them.

Surewood only sells DougFir but they're extremely nice shafts. I know they will taper, I assume if you talk to them they will barrell taper as well.

I bought a bunch of surewoods and I couldn't be happier.

You can taper them yourself if you are into that sort of thing.  It is actually easier than you think.  I use a Bowyer's Edge planning tool from Dean Torges, you can obtain one from his site at    http://www.bowyersedge.com/
