New to trad archery, but have had the privilege to shoot all my friends bows they have and ended up with a Treadway Black Rock 3 piece I bought from a fellow tradgang member. And love it.

Another VOTE for the Firefly Longbow by Jim Jones.  I have owned a myriad of longbows but the the two Fireflys I currently have are the best 3 piece longbows I've had the privilege of shooting. My 55 lb. (@28) Firefly will launch a 580 gr. arrow at 190 fps. at my draw length of 29 1/2". The multitude of deer and two bears I've taken have all been complete pass-throughs.  The second Firefly I own is a 36lb. target bow that's laid claim to a state and sectional title. One of the best quality of build for dollars spent. Fireflys are sold through Brave Heart Archery.

You will find that each bowyer has a following. Many times it is regional. Many times the archer knows the bowyer personally. Truth is most of the good bowyers out there have great products and will stand behind the bows they make. You are from TX, I'd look around your local. I shoot a Bob Lee 3p and love it for my hunting bow. I also shoot a River Raisin 3p cause I know Tom Moran and he's a super guy. Has the best bow for the money and stands behind it.Use that bow at all the summer shoots. You really can't go wrong w/ a quality bow maker.
BTW, I had to give up my one piece too because of tennis elbow. Feel your pain...LOL

Did you know Big Jim also makes 3-piece longbows? I have one, mine is fantastic in  every way!

Andy McCoy from Bezaleel Bows makes a great TD riser that is available in different lenghts  with recurve and/or longbow limbs.
Lots of material and grip options.
I like his bows very much.
Bezaleel ILF riser + Border HEX6 limbs 50#@29"
Morrison XD riser + Border HEX6 limbs 51#@29"

Of course I recommend my own. However I really like the Sasquatches and Hills Bobcat too. There are a ton of really good three piece longbows out there and they are all great shooters.

God bless, Steve
