Huntin' Arrow Construction
« on: August 31, 2007, 02:11:00 PM »
With the Heavy Grizzley B.H.'s I got, Thanks Whip! I wasnt sure exactly  HOW  I should Make them? 5" X 3 Feathers or 4" X 4 Feathers.
Also, How do You Locate the Broad Head in Relation to the Arrow + Straight up & down, or Cock the B.H. a Little, and Which Direction? Or does  ANY  of it  REALLY  Matter?
Any and  ALL  Help will Be Greatly Appreciated!!  :notworthy:    :notworthy:    :archer:

With a two blade, I have found that it makes no difference how it aligns with the fletch, providing it is spinning true, with no wobble. Three or four blade(from my wheelie days) did need to be aligned and spun. I would think either of those fletch combos would work well...are you using a helical or straight? Helical would stabilize a bit better. Of course, I am new to woodies, and this is just what I have found out making my own arrows in the last year or so...
Good luck either way!

I would go with a slight helical(or just adjust the offset a bit) with the four fletch, and whatever you want on the three. I guess the only way to figure it out is make a couple each way and see what you like the best.
As for my quote, I googled "archery quotes" and it popped up. He is a funny, funny man.
Good luck with the woodies. I cant wait for October....
