Scouting and stumping with the "Baby"
« on: July 10, 2013, 03:39:00 PM »
I still tell him he's my baby boy all the time but he really isnt anymore  at a seasoned 7 years old. Wow how the time went. Now that all star little league is over for a while we vowed to hit the farm for some stumping and scouting. Was good to see plenty of tracks and cuttings on the greens, looks like there'll be some good hunting come fall. The skeeters werent bad and no ticks today thank God. Drove home through some crazy rain that had him a little concerned.       It sure was good to get out with my Lil Guy.

Along the way theres always new discoveries to be made.       And warnings to be given as I show him whats left of my treestand that I killed my 1st archery deer out of 26 years ago.    The day was a gift to be treasured by me and cant wait til the next. Hes showing a lot of interest for his longbow and the woods.

Cool!  Love the look he has with the snail.  That is  a look we should all get more often when out in the woods.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Outstanding post. I love seeing the kiddos in the woods. Mine are 2 and 4 and the stuff they find impresses me.

I like nothing better than taking my girls out in the woods.  I love it when they find stuff that I missed.

Thanks for sharing.
