What gold tips do I need. 35/55 or 55/75

I am shooting recurve bows from 45lb to 47lbs. I am wanting to try some gold tip arrows. I will be shooting 100gr field tips and broadheads. I also draw 29". Does anyone have a chart or know exactly what ones I will need. I keep getting different recommendations from local not so much traditional shops. Thank you!

I'd say 33/55s..... however 15/35s may also fly well.  I would think 55/75s would be far too stiff for that weight/draw unless you plan on putting a lot of weight up front?

According to the chart in the Lancaster catalog you are in the 5575 range for a 30" arrow, but that doesn't reference a point weight.  With that light a point if you kept your arrows short you might be able to get a good tune with 3555 too.  Charts and recommendations are just a start, you need to tune from there.

Either 1535 or 3555. 5575 will be too stiff unless you leave them really long and load up the front.

BTW for 3-D I used to shoot 1535 out of 45# bows, 29" and 50 gr inserts and 125 gr points. Flew great.

3555 is ok i used to use these with a 125grn head  and a 100 grn insert no problem at all and they  were great

I shoot 1535 goldtip traditionals,  30 inch, 100 grains field tip, standard goldtip insert (11.5 grains) standard gt nock (11.4 grains) 10 grains wrap and three feathers, shielded, 5 inch.
I use them for a very fast hybrid bow ( Caribow peregrine) which delivers 45 lbs at my draw of 29 inches.

I bareshafted them to perfection till 25 yards, and use a SBD 6 strands skinny string without silencers, there you go bro!

Important is however how much center cut your bow is, mine is a fraction before center cut with the strikeplate.

If your bows are more center cut, you might need  3555.

I think 5575 is out of the question without more tip weight.

I shoot 3555s at 29.5" long with 186gr - 236gr up front total. and they tune nicely out of several bows in that weight range, maybe a few pounds less.

I think with 100grain tips, and the standard GT aluminum inserts (11gr) you will need 1535 at full length basically and they might even need a little more up front.

What is center cut of your bow? Without knowing the center cut of your, I would go with 1535 full length. Using 100grn points, you'll need a heavier insert (50grn brass).

I have had good luck using the 35/55's shooting from my 45 to 50# bows.  I use the 50 grain brass inserts and 175 grain field points.

I've shot both from my bows, settled on the 3555s for now.  I have 125gr field points and broadheads glued on 100 steel screw in inserts, it gives me a total weight of 510 grains with a 29" shaft and they fly like darts.

There is a reason these experienced shooters are steering you away from 55-75s. Trust them.

I have shot all 3 (1535, 3555 & 5575) out of a Toelke Whip and a '59 Bear Grizzly that is 49 lbs at my 29" draw and can say without a doubt that in MY case, the 5575 is not even a contender with a standard insert and 100 grain point.   At full length, they just started to come around at double that point weight (200 gr) and a 50 grain insert.

The full length 1535 and 3555 shoot and act pretty much identical but keep in mind that 1535 are only made 30" long from the factory (3555 are 32") so you can't shorten the 1535 to stiffen 'em up if needed, point/insert adjustments only and broadhead clearance may be an issue if hunting...

The 3555 at 32" would give you room to trim them down to fine tune spine if needed and again for broadhead clearance if that will be a factor this fall.  I'd start at full length with the point/insert combo desired and make small changes in length (cut no more than a 1/4" at a time, don't ask how I know...) only if necessary to get them where they need to be.

This is only my experience with my bow with my less than perfect release but I hope that it helps.
