Exotic grips
« on: July 30, 2013, 03:39:00 PM »
I have found a supplier that can supply me with a limited quantity of alligator (and other exotic) skins to be used for grips and leather accents for things like quivers and sheaths.  It's fairly expensive per square inch, but you don't need much (maybe 30 square inches on average), looks fantastic and wears very well.  This is TOP GRADE pieces, no seconds.

Do y'all think there is a decent market for this?  Let's here it from the bowyers, leather smiths and average Joes.  Pms with contact info. is fine.

Look into ostrich leg leather.  Looks pretty cool and is on the cheap side.  Tandy carries it.
