I shoot 2016 aluminum or 35/55 goldtips.  I shoot about 52lbs at my draw length of 27" or so.  I shoot a Martin recurve.  Hope that helps.

A woodie 60-65, aluminum 2016 or the Heritage 150 would be my suggestion for a starting point.

Have fun!

If you leave them full length then that would be a good starting point.  The available length should give you a lot of room to experiment.  You may not want to cut them much to start with if you only plan to shoot 125 grains up front.  I shoot 250 grains on the 35/55 and have only cut about an inch off the full length shaft.  I'd start full length with 125 grain and cut off slowly from there.  There will be a particular length for any given type/size shaft that will shoot in your bow.  For example,  you may need a 28.5 inch 2016 shaft and a 30 inch carbon shaft etc.    See the many tuning threads on here by doing a search for "tuning" in Powwow and the Shooters forum.

If ya draw the full 28"s than a Heritage 150 cut to 29.5"s with a 50 grain brass insert and 125-150 grain point weight will fly very well for ya. Shawn
