tire shavings for moccasins?
« on: August 02, 2013, 09:52:00 PM »
Have been saving for new moccasins and just placed an order with arrow. I know some guys use contact cement and tire shavings to get extra traction. Was wondering where i might get some ground rubber or tire shavings for just such a purpose? Many thanks in advance

Ant tire shop that does "lifetime" balancing can fix you up.  Just ask if you can take a few handful of shavings out of their balancer.

I know at marine shops/boat shops, they sell a ground rubber that you mix with paint to put on decks to make them slip proof. You might check into that.

You can do that to your Arrow mocassins, but when you see the level of excellence in materials and craftsmanship, you might think twice about that kind of alteration. I would cry if someone glued tire shavings onto my Arrow mocassins! But each person makes decisions like that for himself. I think you will really like the mocassins when Paul sends them to you.

I agree. I just ordered my 3rd pair (all different styles) a few weeks ago. They are QUALITY!

I was in Discount Tire this week and noticed they sell tire shaings as mulch. Might be worth a try.

I love my Arrows, but they do get a might slick at times. I never had the guts to butter the bottoms up with tire shavings. at times I would like something though.
