crow, coon, coyote, frogs, woodchuck (hear it tastes good), neighbor's cat when it "goes" in your kids' sand pit (JK),

I hear they have snakes down south and how about the Eastern Diamond backs. Dangerous game? or are they protected?

Nutria are a large aquatic rodent.  Larger than a muskrat smaller than a beaver has a bald tald like a rat. They taste ok. But beaver blackstrap is one of the best tasting meats I have tried. And being vegetarians they are pretty clean. Same with the nutria.

Crows are good to hunt. They are very wary and hard to get a shot on.

Haven't done it much, but strapping a light on your bow and hunting coons and foxes at night is fun.

I love shooting squirrels with a bow...there are many counties in Texas that allow year round squirrel hunting.

you could also go for the wild hogs and exotics like black buck, adad (spelling?), axis deer, fallow deer, etc in texas...i think they are open for a good while...its been a while since ive looked into them..also quail and grouse and chipmunk all make good sport and challenging shots. as far as tastes i only know of the grouse and quail as being good eating. wouldnt eat the chipmunks, thats more of population control. and ive never hunting wild hogs or the exotics of texas just heard/read about them.
