I met Fred
« on: August 16, 2013, 02:21:00 PM »
I got the oppurtunity to meet Fred Eichler at the local Bass Pro shop. Seems to be an awesome guy who truly is passionate about bowhunting.
He noticed my Black Widow shirt and actually pulled me aside. We talked a good hour about tradtional bowhunting. Fred's draw weight is 54#
Suprised me, I figured he would be up in the 60's.

Well that's my story. Better get back to work

I got to meet Fred at two different ATA shows and he is by far one of the best guys to go up to and start up a conversation. Every year I go I look for Fred, just a great guy and he is doing a lot for our sport.

He made a couple of Muzzy shoots and he hung in our camp when he could, had to be the refreshments because it wasn't the personalities of out group.  Great guy to talk with and a excellent shot as well.

One of my favorites also. Watched him shoot a beautiful 6x6 elk w/compound a few days ago. That was cool too! No kidding. Bet he'd say he prefers trad though? He's a great person & hunter  committed!

I got to meet him at bass pro once too he sat and talked to me for near an hour about bowhunting. Just an awesome guy who was a ton of fun to talk to. His show has been the only one I bother picking up on DVD anymore (had to lose cable) and it was refreshing to find that he was just as cool in person as on tv.

I hunted mountain lion with Fred a few years back (2005). He and Michelle aren greatb people. Haven't had a chance to talk with them in a while, but you can't find anyone with more enthusiasm than Fred. Great guy, lots of fun.

Some years back Fred and Michelle came to Kalamazoo, MI for the Traditional Bowhunter’s Expo. At the time, they stopped by the MI Traditional Bowhunter’s Booth and said hello and you felt as though they were long time friends. At the time I was working behind the booth and my son in law, daughter and twin grandsons were standing there. I introduced them to Fred and Michelle and there was some chit chat and Fred and Michelle moseyed on. Of course myself nor my kids had never seen, let alone talked to them before.

The following year Fred and Michelle were there and Fred walks up, sticks out his hand and says, “Hey Chuck – how’s those grandsons?” I could not believe it.

That’s the kind of people they are. Just so down to earth and they know exactly what matters in life. Just great people and definitely both are the real deal.
