Fireboss, I think you are right all around. I've been using PayPal for most of my transactions. However, in a lot of them, I've sent the money as a "gift" to avoid PayPal's charges. I guess that's really cheating PayPal out of the fees that support them and their parent company. Their guarantee is easily worth the 3% and I think unless it really IS a gift to family, I will not be using that feature anymore. Besides, I recently got burned for the first time and have no recourse to recover my money. It wasn't a lot of money and not worth trying to file charges, but a regular PayPal transaction would have gotten me either my merchandise or my money back. In the future, I might even try to split the cost of the fees with the seller, as we are both protected in the transaction.
