ghost??
« on: August 28, 2013, 08:07:00 PM »
i was looking on pse's website the other day and came across their top of line recurve, the ghost. and was wondering if anyone has ever heard or even shot this bow? or what a good bow would be with in its price range of $450? thinkin about saving up for an upgrade bow (currently shootin a samick, its not bad but could be better..good bow for the buck  ;)  ) and am just starting to do some research on it and was wondering what ya'll thoughts were on it.    :dunno:

Just my opinion...but I think you'd be making a lateral move going from a Samick to a PSE.

No experience with either maker but what I would say advice wise is do a LOT more research hands-on if possible you may find something at a better price that is a better fit for you.

You can find a far better bow in the classifieds here for that price.

You could get a good new custom bow for just a bit more and it would shoot circles around that thing. Check out Rainy day boys or Legends bows Im sure theres other bowers on here that could do the same.
You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.

cool thanks for the advice...i used the ghost as a representative to price point more than anything...ive too many scary stories about risers snapping and limbs delaminating (although the ghost does look kinda cool) but its more for price point; i dont really wanna dump more than 500 for a new bow, but expecting/shooting for 300-400 to hopefully get me a good bow thats a step up from a samick...im not picky whether it be a production or custom or lightly used...i just get nervous with used bows after buying a used ben pearson (sp?) that lasted only 3 months after developing a cracked limb...so i would prefer new but will accept lightly used also.

Get a Hoyt Excel 21" riser in blackout, and some TT BlackMax limbs all new, for well within your price range
