Bow hush ?
« on: September 10, 2013, 11:31:00 AM »
I have some horrible string / limb slap going on. Do these work good to eliminate the slap and do they last a long time? Thanks ahead of time for any information.

Yes....I started the company for my girls....bout 12 years ago...why?...cause I wanted the same thing you did and I started experimenting and testing....a quiet bow.

1st came the Bowhush, and then I came out with the Hush Puppies.

If they didn't work, I sure wouldn't use them.

Thanks Terry, I will be sending an order form shortly. Seems to be a much better solution than stick on calf hair that falls off after 5 shots. Thanks Keith

The quality of wool makes these items worth the cost. No comparison between the yarn that you can get at the discount stores and the bow hush/hush puppies. Good product.

If you like them give the hush puppies a try.  They are very effective and they look good on the sting to.

THEY WORK!

I prefer hush puppies for the sake of simplicity. They both work well!

I went to the Bow Hush site.  Am I reading the pricing correctly in that they cost $6.00?  Does that include shipping?

I believe so, the order form says $6 each post paid in usa. Not a bad price in my opinion. Now if Terry only sold bear hair rests and limb tip protectors it would be a one stop shop. Oh and riser inserts.

I bought some of these during the sale a few months ago. I put the Bow Hush on one bow and the hush puppies on another.  It is more time consuming to attach than many other silencing systems, but not unbearable.  I've found both items to be quite durable and they stay in place.

I was concerned the Pups would slow down my rig (compared to a pair of whiskers (divided into 4ths) because they "looked slow". I put them through the Chronograph.  Nope, I'm happy to say there was no difference in FPS between the two.

I have to admit though the bow I'm trying to make quiet still isn't as quiet as my all wood riser bows, even with this treatment, but I'm still hunting with it.

Great stuff. I got some more coming to pass out for my buddies birthday present to go with a nice bottle of bourbon.  Also, I've got a vintage 1957 Kodiak I just restored and I'm going to get that set up with bow hush and hush puppies as well. Christmas is coming up and if you exchange gifts at all with your bow hunting buddies, it's a great gift idea.
