My new toy
« on: September 13, 2013, 04:27:00 PM »
It's 56", marked 50# @ 28" (scales 52# on my scales) and is one of the smoothest drawing bows I have ever shot. Camo actionwood riser and back with zebrawood belly and action boo cores. Not the prettiest bow you'll ever see (wood wise), but right at home in the woods. Absolutely no hand shock and very quiet. Put it through the chrono, with a 535gn arrow (10.3gpp)= 180fps, 439gn arrow (8.44gpp) = 196fps. I think I could hear just a tiny difference in bow noise with the lighter shaft, but I wouldn't swear to it without a db meter, pretty darn quiet either way. I have purposefully left out maker's info here as he is not a sponsor, but I would be happy to share with any who PM me.

Congrats! Some of us have already seen that bow and know who built it

It always amazes me how "big" a bow looks on its own but how small and slender they look when you see them relative to your hand size.

Looks good, and from your description, sounds like it performs even better. You need to talk this bowyer into becoming a sponsor! Good luck with her in the seasons to come.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.
