Jealous much?
« on: September 21, 2013, 11:20:00 AM »
I have been following along as some of you early birds have posted on your hunts.  If the weather had been less dry and cooler here I would have been green with envy.  But it has been dry as a powder keg and still in the 80s and 90s so its all I could do to finish some last minute scouting and Finish a couple of natural  ground blinds.  Mosquitos so bad I had to use a blunt on them.

Until this morning!  It rained all day Friday and today the temp
Has dropped a bit.   Im sure long sleeves are still a long ways away.  Thank you Lord for the rain.

Like the lion said when he bit off the monkey's tail,
"It won't be long now!"

Enjoy your season

the mosquitos and blunts thing is hilarious.  same deal here in FL.  not to mention the evil yellow flies that are immune to the thermacell.  they tore me up on wednesday on my first hunt.  only saw one squirrel.  kinda scratching my head cause it was an oak area with known activity.  just wasn't my day.

Talk about heat. Here in central FL it is starting to cool down a little bit at night into the 80's but during the day it is like an oven.

I am going to look funny in a loin cloth next week when season opens. There is just no way to even consider camo so I may have to rub some swamp mud on my legs and use moc's or just go barefoot

It is still so hot here in south bama that your shirt will be wet within an hour and it even fogs up my glasses. Our season opens up Oct 15 and its hard to believe its going to be cool by then. I have permits to night hunt on a peanut field where some hogs have decided to plow it up before harvest time but its even too hot for that still. And the skeeters,,,here a blunt wont work, you have to use broadheads on them and even then you need to wait an hour before you track them.

Same as DoradoWilder here in SE PA.  Had a cool spate of weather, but then i t came back warm end of the week. Now i t's raining and promise of a bit cooler...

Fall's in the wings, but things with wings are still dominant--- we don't have the proliferation of blood suckers some of you do, but more than enough...

I even got chiggers around Hamburg, PA 2 yrs back. I didn't even know they were IN Yankee states!        :knothead:

Love bugs ? Thats just our twice a year destroy your car paint thanks to the University of Florida.

They were trying to make a bug that would eat skeeters and love bugs is what we got.

And no, they don't eat skeeters....lol

Just this morning a nice cold spell came rolling through after yesterday's day long storm nocking temps down into the low 90's. Man I love these season changes!

Got so hot a week ago the corn on the stalk started popping all by itself. Ever eat popped corn on the cob?

Mosquitos, well we don't have any here in SE Texas, but there's been numerous sighting of blood thirsty turkeys buzzing around with stringers

It's a beautiful morning here, all we need is for season to begin
