proud and embarrassed
« on: September 26, 2013, 11:52:00 PM »
Was shooting today with my brother in law . He asked my wife " why don't you go get your bow and shoot with us ? " She went and got her Bear Super 48 , I braced it for her and at 25 paces she drilled my plastic bottle cap that I have hung in front of my back stop for an aiming point . I told her not to break mt expensive target . She shot 2 more and each of them were within about 2 inches of the first arrow . The worst problem with this is that I was not shooting very well today and she beat me bad in front of a witness . She started laughing and missed the back stop with the next 2 arrows .

Well you see my wrist was hurting and I had just put a new string on my bow and the sun was glaring off my glasses . That's my excuse and I am sticking with it .

I can't wait until my wife can show me up! It will be a happy day. Good on you for owning up to it!

It's like that for me too. I practice way, way more, and my wife often shoots better. I try to stay with the proud part, and always praise her. And it does tweak my ego a little.

Don't be embarrassed, just proud.
Who got her started shooting?

My wife beat me soundly at an individual event at a recent slingshot tournament. It was just that one competition but it was in front of many of the best shooters in the country.
I'm very proud to have been her coach, it means almost as much to me to teach someone to shoot as to shoot well myself.

If I were you I'd praise her up one side and down the other...then take your bows for being such an exceptional teacher.

There's nothing in either of those things that is cause for embarrassment.

God bless,Mudd

Love it!  I want to get equiped again and also get a set up for my wife...I know she'd love to shoot if we could ever come together with gear.
