old school caves--LED ignorance is curable!
« on: September 29, 2013, 02:05:00 PM »
There have been several excellent posts lately regarding LED flashlight/headlamp technology.  My son gave me a SureFire model using CR123 batteries several years ago when they were relatively new.  It had a flip-up red lense attachment, but I'll have to confess that until now I mainly used it for getting to my stand before daylight. My preference for blood trailing has always been a Coleman white gas lantern...until this weekend, when I had the chance to blood trail with the lantern in one hand and the LED in the other.  No comparison, the LED put it to shame. Even an olddog can learn new tricks! I'm going to upgrade and get another.  Looking at the Eagletac D25LC2 or a Fenix 32 or 35.  Can somebody tell me whether the cool white or neutral white option is best for blood trailing!  Thanks.

Not sure about color temperature but have a look at 4sevens as well, probably the best value out there.
