After "practicing" on those NC deer, I sure am ready to put a sharp broadhead through several (already bought my bonus tag) Virginia whitetails (and a bear if one happens to get really unlucky - the bear, not me    :goldtooth:   )

Good luck to all!

Good luck to all.  Aim low and let her go.  :archer2:

Don't aim too low Jeff!

Allen,
I'm just giving you guys a head start tomorrow.  You better not miss (or at least don't tell us if you do), or I'll be calling you "below average Allen"   ;)

Good luck and be safe everyone!

I hunted Dickenson County today.  Private land.  Saw 8 before the heat ran me inside at about 1030.

No shots.  It was good to be out.

walked up the hill just after 6a.m., drug her back down around 6:45a.m. A quick quartering and into the new 150 qt. cooler on ice and was at work before 8a.m. Ready for two days of hunting Monday and Tuesday. I have an appointment with a ten pointer I saw last week.

My first trad deer, didn't know I could get that excited again. 46#'s felt like 70. Ain't adrenalin a funny thing?

Congrats WhiteBeard!    :clapper:

I had a doe come through out off range just after daylight. At 8:00 twin six point bucks split my stand running wide open and spooked. One actually went right under my stand. No shots but it was great morning to be out until the heat started.

Thanks guys,it looks and sounds like you had good times out there. This morning is a bust, the remnants of Karen are dumping on us right now. Maybe this evening. I keep telling myself that I will learn ho to use the cell phones camera!

Been a while since I was down ya'lls way, used to know a lot of guys who worked on tip of that mountain. I do get down to Lee county about once a year. Hope you have a big time at it!

Had to do a side job for a friend and didn't get back as early as I wanted.  Was worn out and dehydrated so I passed on some easy shots.

Had plenty of action all evening with does, a couple 4 pointers, a decent 5 pointer but I was holding out for a bigger buck I'd seen...... or this:

Been seeing this guy regular but he beat me to my spot because I was late.  Crawled to within 35 yards but a deer and some noise scared him off.  Was hoping he'd come back but he didn't, until Sunday.  May have to take a half day to try and get him.
