Yes make sure an admin is aware of the situation.  Could be an honest mistake or could be bogus.  This is one reason why I generally use Paypal for all my transactions.  Good luck I have my fingers crossed that its just a mixup.

I have had a few honest mistakes happen with Trad guys, but have been truly scammed twice. The sad thing is, we are....especially on this website.....extremely honest as a group. Scam-guys know this, and sometimes take advantage. I no longer  ship an item without payment in hand (unless it is someone I know, have done business with before, etc.)

Just for future reference - use paypal for everything! Once a complaint if filed, even if they have already spent your money paypal with withdraw from their bank account. (even overdraw it if need be) In most online transactions the buyer is protected slightly more than the seller.

Do some homework on the buyer/seller before anything-search posts, do an address check, google, get a phone number and talk to the guy/gal. I always do this and more just to be sure. And if you aren't dealing with a saint or higher get the money first. BTW Trades are potentially the most dangerous! And doing stuff with Paypal is a definite plus.

I had something similar happen to me, when I was selling some limbs.  Guy said he sent payment; I never got it.  Notified him, and said I would hold the limbs for him while he figured it out.  He hemmed and hawed, but it was obvious I wasn't going to send the limbs without payment, so he eventually said to go ahead and sell them to somebody else.

I guess I am very lucky, I don't buy or trade much in this (or any other) site but I have never been stiffed.  Each and every transaction has gone well, including at least one where I sent the thing out prior to ever receiving a check.

I am saddened by the lack of character, morals and integrity of some individuals.

At minimum, If his words and actions do not make me feel good about the situation (give him a chance if things are suddenly difficult) I would report the transaction to the local (his local) police and file a report.  Make sure Terry and crew hear about the particulars for their knowledge.

Good luck

ChuckC
