A Recurve/Longbow Shooter Did This!
« on: September 08, 2007, 12:15:00 PM »
This shot was taken from a distance of twelve yards.  The deer was walking and the first shot took it through both lungs.  Travel to recovery forty yards.  My last three deer have been taken at an average distance of fourteen yards.  All have been from the ground.

No...it was not this year, our season doesn't start until Sept 29th.

Yep George that is more like it., I hunt fromthe ground 99% of the time. They don't run far with a poke through both lungs. Hopfully I can do the same this year. <><

Twelve yards is kind of a long shot isn't it, lol...

Actually, IMO, that 12-18 yards is ideal and is what I strive for..

Good shooting, good hunting !!

Wow!  How in the world were you able to get that close to a big game animal?  LOL!  You da man, George!  Great example of patience and skill.  These youngsters should pay attention.

Twelve yards?  You've got to be gapping at that distance.  Might have to question whether that's an ethical shot.  :jumper:

Now THAT is what bow huntin' is all about! Getting close... Real Close. I hope to get that close this year... Without getting busted that is. Although being able to look eye to eye is half of the fun.
