Vented or unvented?
« on: September 08, 2007, 07:33:00 PM »
Make a difference? thinking about getting the tigersharks from Ron's archery shop. Do vents make any difference at all in yalls opinion?

Just wonderin-get em in 150s w/out and 135 with. weight makes no diference to me. but that is how they come.

I havn't shot the Tigersharks, but I have shot both vented and un vented Magnus before and did not see much difference.

I'm partial to vented broadheads they just seem to fly nicer for me. Get them or make them up the same weight as your field tips.

When using broadheads you will find the same weight as a field point, doesn't always have the same impact point.  The broadhead is longer and more aerodynamic...usually, so sometimes the same weight will hit higher.

I use both vented and not and see relatively no difference.  I've also noted that a 145 grain Bear Razorhead, will impact almost exactly as my 125 grain field point.  Check them out on your bow and arrow setup to see what works best for you.

Used vented all my life, didn't ever see where it would make a difference. Wonderin if anyone else had similar thoughts.

George I use field tips just for group shootin at like bullseye targets-3d fields. When I shoot my Kenzie at home I only use broadheads. See no point in field tips as you say they do not fly the same. Yeah tears up faster but I always knw what my broadheads will fly.

I just bought a dozen of 150 grain Tiger Sharks from Ron. I bought the 150 grain and the 135 grain last year and I like the 150 grain unvented better. They flew better for me and the 135 "whistled" for some reason.

Plus, you want run out of metal to sharpen. The 135 grains I had didn't have a whole lot of steel above the vents.
