Great day of stalking.
« on: October 11, 2013, 09:12:00 AM »
Went out stalking in the woods yesterday. It was on and off drizzle, mostly off. The cloudy cool weather had the deer moving all day. I got with in 15 yards of a Fork horn, but that wasn't legal where I was at. I also came across does several times. There were 4 or 5 in each group with too many eyes looking around. I just couldn't get close enough. Think I'll do it again once the kids are on the bus. Same kind of weather today, just a little warmer. Now a few pics.

Started out near this Massive white oak.

Then I worked my way up through some open Hemlock forest.

Finally I arrive just below the top ridge line where there were more oak flats waiting for my bow and I to make our way.

I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

I kept thinking all day yesterday that it would be a perfect day to be in the woods! Leaving work early to check things out today.  :)
