Asbell wool..Gray vs olive

Hey Gang,

Thinking pretty hard about picking up an Asbell jacket.

Most of the patterns on their site now look to have a bit too much light color to them for my taste.

So I'm leaning towards the plain gray or olive.

I've been scouring the net looking at pics of these colors.
It's been pretty difficult to get a good idea of the "darkness" of these colors.
...edited some for the sake of the campfire....

For those of you that have them or have been able to actually see them in person, which is the darker color?..Olive or grey?

Call Teresa direct. She will truthfully answer any question you have. If you can't call send her an e-mail. The gray is on the dark side, but it is gray not charcoal. Olive will be darker than the gray. I personally prefer the gray over the olive especially in cold weather when the foliage has turned or fallen.Seems to blend in a little better which helps when hunting from tree stands. Just my opinion. Good luck and be safe.

Hey Zradix....not sure that anything s photoshopped.

All of the Asbell wool pics are taken with just a simple digital camera, nothing professional. Sometimes getting the exposure right is tricky. Nothing is done to fool anyone though.

To answer your question, if I would choose Olive drb for early season, ad grey for later. Grey is awesome when used in a treestand.

I have both and use both.  The olive is a little darker and is great for early season in shadowy areas.  I wore mine this morning sitting about 10 feet up on ladder stand in a hemlock tree.  Like Roger said, the grey is good up higher and later in the season when the foliage is down.  I hunt in the Adirondack Mountains in NY where there is a lot of rock outcroppings.  The grey makes me disappear.  I have does walk by me all the time and they never see me.  Other hunters, too.  Just waiting for that buck to stroll by...!

That really helps with the grey vs charcoal.
I totally understand the grey in the treestand because of it being lighter grey.

I happen to hunt from the ground exclusively which is now making be lean towards the green for the same reason.

I know what you mean about those pics being the same. I have looked at them many times and wondered the same. I think I'm going to order the grey this year.

Why don't you call and see if you can drive down and look at them in person.  They are just down in twin lake I belive not to far from you.
