Big Jim's leather side quiver

I usually put strap on quivers on my bows but I traded for a bow last month that I feel is well balanced the way it is. I am shooting a back quiver right now and am exploring my options. I was thinking about a bow mate elite side quiver until I saw the big Jim side quiver. Does anyone have any opinions of them? Ease of use? Pictures of them in action? Any input would be apprcited. If so, I bought one this year off of the classifieds.  Well made and handy to use.  I would be using it more but my son likes it so much he took it.  Only draw back for hunting would be that it doesn't have any way to protect the feathers in case of moisture.  But other than that I feel it is a good quiver.

Yea that's the one. I'll look and see if there are any in the classifides but I'm sure there isn't. Might have to try one out. Hope other people have some input about them. Thanks

if you have or purchase a fletching cover, it can slip over the feathers and attach to the back of the quiver via one of the open holes. This will protect the feathers.

I made a similar one. You can protect the feathers by just sliding a plastic bag over them.

I'm really liking it as I can wear my knapsack on my back with no interference.

I never thought about being able to wear a pack also. That will be a plus.

I have a water bladder that I wear under my back quiver, it's great. The only downside is sometimes the arrows clank if you're moving too fast... that's usually how I know I'm stalking too quickly.

Haha thanks for the pictures Paul! I'm glad you took the lefty picture in the mirror so I could see how it hangs righty.
I'm not going to lie I thought it was on the wrong shoulder till I realized it was in the mirror. I are smart.

man that looks very close to identical to my Jack Bowyers chief quiver.  Regardless who makes it, its a great design.  It does take some getting used too but once you do you'll likely never use another quiver design again.   I do have a few different side quivers.   The chief and a gn longbow quiver slung with 550 cord both are my go to's depending on hunt and duration.   I did buy the asbell, nice design, rubber stinks in the cold lol.  

Some things were mentioned on a hood.  I almost never use mine!  unless I'm screwing around chasing birds and I'm carry a few bh's in the bottom 2 slots (the plug I reference).   Dunno what posses's me to put the bh's in the bottom other than I'll know I'll want them if I don't carry a couple.  I figured with all the in and out I don't need a sharp head poking me while I'm playing lol.

I cant say I care for the wool at the opening end....I prefer a plug with notches in my chief quiver.   It's the main reason a hood is not needed!  

You can wear a pack, I've finally broke down and picked up a bison pack and so far it hangs well with it also.  I also find myself strapping the quiver onto the side of my pack (right side of my pack has a spot for it) when I'm chasing sheep, I can still access arrows if I have an oops moment.  I usually strap it down when I'm moving any distance, a full bag (heavy), or just to lazy to have it around my side.   It does/can get annoying at times when you're hiking up down or any great distances, so it's nice to change it up.  

I don't like mine for roving in general.  I've shot a backquiver from almost day 1, though I rarely hunt with one, they are perfect for said application.
